5 Steps involved in getting Nursing Assistant Certification
Before taking a step ahead towards nursing career, it is important that you should be mentally prepared and should obtain the required information from the relevant source about this career profile. It is mandatory to obtain a CNA certification for moving ahead with this career.
- Information gathering: It is important to gather all the requirements for taking a CNA course beforehand. It includes checking the accreditation of the institute, fees structure, the duration of the course, topics covered under the classroom and training session, career prospects, and the job opportunities.
- Enrollment procedure: You have to fulfill the eligibility criteria that includes a high school diploma degree or GED (general educational development) with the age limit of 18 years or more. Apart from this, you have to fill the enrollment form correctly and submit it to the concerned person with the required documents
- Completing CNA training classes: The training classes are divided into 2 parts, theoretical classes and practical sessions. You have to complete the full training procedure by attending all the classes. If you miss a single class, then it would be very difficult for you to understand the further lectures.
- Appearing and passing the nursing assistant certification exam: After the completion of the training program, you will have to appear for the final test that comprises of written section (multiple choices) and clinical practical test.
- Obtaining CNA certification: On clearing the test with passing marks, you will be awarded the nursing assistant certification, and you can further apply for the license to the nurse aide registry.
